How a Ticket Works

Members open a ticket from the panel and briefly describe their issue. Nexus then creates a private channel that only the creator, the category's support roles and the bot can see. To close it, the support team clicks Close Ticket. The creator can confirm the closure or decline it with a reason. When the ticket closes, Nexus creates a transcript. It is posted in the ticket channel, sent to the creator by DM, and posted in the log channel. After that, the channel is deleted automatically.

Required Bot Permissions

For Nexus to create, secure and clean up ticket channels, the bot's role needs the following Discord permissions:

  • Manage Channels: Creates categories and ticket channels, and deletes them again after closing.

  • Manage Roles: Sets the channel permissions so that only the creator and the support team can see the ticket. It also removes the creator's permission to write when a ticket is being closed.

  • View Channel, Send Messages & Embed Links: Posts the panel, the welcome message in the ticket and the close request.

  • Attach Files: Attaches the transcript as a text file, in the ticket and in the log channel.

  • Read Message History: Reads the ticket history to build the transcript.
