Welcome
💡 Variety in your welcomes: Save several welcome messages. For every new member, Nexus picks one at random, so your welcome channel doesn't read like a copy-paste archive.
Welcome Messages
Step 1: Set the Welcome Channel
Type
/settingsin the chat.Click Change welcome channel and select the text channel you want.
Without a welcome channel, no welcome is posted. The channel also serves as a fallback for boost messages if no separate boost channel is set.
Step 2: Create Custom Messages (optional)
Without custom messages, Nexus uses a default text with the member's name and member number.
Method 1: Via the Dashboard (Recommended)
Open the Nexus Dashboard and select your Discord server.
Go to Welcome in the menu.
Add new messages, or edit or delete existing ones.
Method 2: Directly in Discord
Type
/welcome_messagein the chat.Click Add and enter your message in the pop-up.
Use Edit and Delete to manage existing messages.
Available Placeholders
{user}: The new member's name in bold.
{username}: The new member's name without formatting.
{server}: Your server's name.
{membercount}: The current member count.
Example: Welcome {user} to {server}! You're member number {membercount} 🎉
Note: Welcome messages intentionally don't ping the new member, so nobody gets flooded with notifications right after joining.
Limits
Free: 1 custom welcome message.
Premium: up to 5 messages, from which Nexus picks one at random.
Goodbye Messages
When someone leaves the server, Nexus posts a short goodbye message with their avatar.
Type
/goodbyein the chat.Select the channel you want. This automatically turns goodbye messages on.
Use the Goodbye: ON/OFF button to turn them off at any time without losing the channel.
The goodbye message text is fixed and can't be customized at the moment.
Tip: You'll find a full list of all chat commands in our command reference for Welcome & Goodbye.
